One of our corporate partners in the construction industry is undertaking a significant building project in Fishguard, Pembrokeshire and has offered several opportunities to include Social Firms to tender. The financial value of this project is sizeable and has the potential to make a significant impact of any member that is able to fulfil requirements by providing opportunities to provide services to the Commercial Construction Industry in Wales.
1. Builders Clean – This is the final clean of the building prior to handover and represents a significant package of works with large amounts of labour to ensure the building is clean and presentable. Will include accessibility means so small plant hire and or qualified cleaners to use access equipment may be required but can be negotiated. All cleaners will be required to hold CSCS cards as will be on-site for the duration of the works.
2. Silicone sealant – Silicone application for movement joints in brickwork, window reveals, sanitary ware and other areas as standard building detail. Substantial works required to all areas with specialist silicones as advised in the specification. Again, all operatives to have achieved the necessary CSCS cards, provide all industry compliant access equipment and 1 day CITB H&S training as relevant. A significant labour-based package of works and supplier of sealant products.
3. Catering provision – during the works, a significant amount of operatives could use a mobile catering provision from an existing, visiting service at set times to site. Appropriate hygiene certificates only, as safe access to site car park will be provided. Numbers are small currently (circa 20)
Please note there are certain criteria required to enable approval onto the Contractors supply chain database prior to any orders being placed, in addition to a competitive tendering process.
